Kansas Fall Ultra Extravaganza 2015

A new ultra-running event will take place on the Flint Hills Nature Trail and the Prairie Spirit Trail on October 24th starting in Ottawa, Kansas.

Epic Ultras is hosting the Kansas Rails-to-Trails Fall Ultra Extravaganza, which features four separate ultra running races on Kansas Rail-Trails:

  • R2T 100 Mile: The Kansas Rails-to-Trails 100 Mile is run on two separate sections of the Flint Hills Trail & the Prairie Spirit Trail. Starting/Finishing at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, Kansas, and following the Prairie Spirit Trail two miles north before intersecting with the Flint Hills Trail, the first 40 miles of this out & back course will take you outbound southeasterly to the western edge of Osawatomie and then back to Celebration Hall in Ottawa, before completing the next 60 mile out & back portion on the Prairie Spirit Trail southbound to the small town of Welda and back to Celebration Hall in Ottawa.
  • Prairie Spirit Trail Fall Classic 50 Mile: The Prairie Spirit Trail Fall Classic 50 Mile is an out-and-back course, beginning at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, Kansas, with a short (2 mile approx.) northbound out and back, then traveling primarily south to Garnett and back north to the finish.
  • Flint Hills Trail Fall Classic 40 Mile: The Flint Hills Trail Fall Classic 40 Mile is an out and back course, beginning at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, Kansas, and following the Prairie Spirit Trail two miles north before intersecting with the Flint Hills Trail and heading southeasterly to the western edge of Osawatomie and then back to Celebration Hall in Ottawa.
  • Prairie Spirit Trail Fall Classic 50K: The Prairie Spirit Trail Fall Classic 50K is an out-and-back course, beginning at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, Kansas, with a short (1 mile approx.) northbound out and back, then traveling primarily south to Richmond and back north to the finish.

One of the quintessential pioneers and legends of endurance sports, adventure racing, and of course ultrarunning, Mr. Marshall Ulrich, has graciously agreed to be the Honorary Keynote Speaker on Friday evening, October 23rd, and will also be sticking around to meet and greet runners at packet pickup and wish everyone well at the start of each of the respective race distances on Saturday morning.
